Sophos announces Ingram Micro as first UK distributor Partnership designed to extend outreach to SME market

Ingram Micro

Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against viruses, spyware and spam, has announced that it has chosen Ingram Micro UK as its first ever UK distributor. Ingram Micro will provide far-reaching distribution of Sophos's Small Business Solutions boxed products for between five and 25 users, as well as logistical and marketing support, online trading, and access to its existing base of almost 4,000 UK resellers.

Sophos Small Business Solutions products are purpose-built for businesses with limited IT resources, which need easy-to-use, reliable protection against viruses, Trojans, spyware and spam, on desktops, laptops, file and email servers. With more than 70% of its sales conducted on the web, Ingram Micro offers resellers a quick and easy way to buy its solutions. Ingram Micro will also provide resellers with lower transaction costs and access to online marketing tools and resources, while end-users can benefit from ease of purchase and greater availability of Sophos's Small Business Solutions products.

"As our momentum in the SME market has continued to grow, we decided to bring onboard a distributor in order to gain access to a wider proportion of UK resellers working in this area," said Stuart Small, UK sales and marketing director at Sophos. "Ingram Micro's experience and expertise in selling IT security solutions make it a perfect fit for Sophos, and we look forward to working together to meet the growing demand from small enterprises looking to enhance their level of protection."

"We're delighted to be partnering with Sophos, and look forward to helping our resellers benefit from quicker access to the Small Business Solutions," said Bhavesh Patel, commercial director at Ingram Micro UK. "In addition, by working with several large online and retail partners in the UK, we'll be able to ensure a high level of availability, meaning that customers do not need to wait before investing in IT security."

Sophos will continue to be directly responsible for all orders placed for its licensed products in both the SME and large enterprise markets, in addition to all product renewals.
