Sophos expert speaks at first ever Anti-Spyware Coalition public workshop

Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against viruses, spyware and spam, has today announced that Richard Baldry, head of strategic alliances at Sophos, will be a featured panelist at the first-ever Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC) Public Workshop.
Baldry is a veteran of the security industry, having worked with Sophos to counter the threats posed by spyware and viruses since 1993. He is joined at the conference, by other well-known speakers such as Walter Mossberg, the Wall Street Journal's personal technology columnist, and Susannah Fox, associate director at the Pew Internet & American Life Project. The event's keynote address will be given by Federal Trade Commission Chairwoman Deborah Platt Majoras.
Baldry will participate on a panel at 15:00 discussing how spyware poses a unique threat to corporate networks, and how companies can best defend their systems.
The workshop, being held on 9 February at the Capitol Hyatt Regency in Washington DC, will examine the growing threat of spyware and the latest technologies and solutions designed to stop its spread.
Sophos joined the ASC in September 2005 - helping build an alliance of technology companies and public interest groups whose mission is to create a consensus regarding spyware definitions, along with best practice in the debate surrounding spyware and other potentially unwanted software.
