PC Plus : "Sophos is superb"

The March 2002 edition of PC Plus magazine reviewed Sophos
According to PC Plus, Sophos
PC Plus praised Sophos's powerful InterCheck technology: "Once installed, Sophos doesn't quite work in the same way as other virus scanners. Rather than placing higher demands on your PC by using the usual memory-resident real-time scanner check on every file as it's accessed, Sophos uses its patented InterCheck system, which feeds each file through a sophisticated process before Windows gets its hands on it. On larger directories, this proves to be very efficient."
Sophos's detection rates were also praised, correctly detecting and identifying all of the viruses it was tested against. PC Plus continued, "The network scanning features and centralised administration are a boon if you manage more than one machine too".
The review noted that Sophos is focused on protecting corporate enterprises rather than single home users, and concluded: "There's no doubting the fact that Sophos
