Top ten viruses reported to Sophos in December 2000
This is the latest in a series of monthly charts counting down the ten most frequently occurring viruses as compiled by Sophos, a world leader in corporate anti-virus protection.
For December 2000, the chart is as follows, with the most frequently occurring virus at number one:
"Despite warnings, users received some unwelcome Christmas presents in the form of new viruses such as Hybris-B, Prolin and Navidad," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos Anti-Virus. "Viruses such as these are increasingly using psychology to tempt users to open attachments and everyone's New Year resolution should be to do a double-take before they double-click."
