Sophos ramps up channel business by appointing Channel Sales Manager

SYDNEY - Sophos, the world's leader in network-ready anti-virus software, has appointed Annette Brooks as Channel Sales Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Brooks, formerly West Australian State Sales Manager for NEC Australia's Personal Products Group, is responsible for growing Sophos's sales channels addressing small to medium business, government and educational markets.

The introduction late last year of a structured Reseller Program has seen these channels grow rapidly in recent months. It has attracted key channel partners in all mainland States, as well as New Zealand.

This year Sophos will continue focusing on building the awareness of the company and its products in the Australian market through various advertising and marketing activities.

"Sophos has several sustainable advantages that really appeal to our channels and their customers," Brooks says.

"First, our customers have access to free 24 hour telephone technical support, seven days a week. Second, Sophos also supports the widest range of operating systems including 10 Unix platforms, providing true cross platform protection. And third, Sophos Anti-Virus can easily be managed from a centralised point within an organisation, making it easy for administrators updating virus information across entire networks."

Brooks says channel partners are finding Sophos's policy of allowing them to sell licence renewals at the same margins as new business very appealing.

"We want our channels to benefit financially through the entire relationship with our customers ... generating additional, recurring income," she says. "And with retention rates of more than 80 per cent around the world, Sophos's anti-virus business is growing rapidly."
