When attempting to install SafeGuard Easy, the installation process rolls back without any visible error or reason and the installation cannot be completed. What can be done to solve this?
This behaviour has been observed on IBM / Lenovo machines.
In this case you should verify three things:
1. Has CHKDSK been performed prior to the installation? --> more information can be found in the article 107081.
2. Is IBM specific software (IBM Rescue and Recovery) installed on the computer?
3. Does the computer have a (possibly hidden) service partition?
If the computer HAS such a service partition and IBM Rescue and Recovery is NOT installed, you will need to use a special parameter when installing SafeGuard Easy:
To achieve this, you can add this parameter to the command line installation of Safeguard Easy with "msiexec" (e.g. msiexec c:\sgeasy.msi ADDLOCAL=Sgeasy, Encryption IBMRAR=0).
After that, the installation should complete without problems.
