Windows 2000 Professional SP4, Windows XP SP2 Professional Edition
Windows 2000, Windows 2003
If using the Microsoft Autologon function ("users can logon without an ID and password"), how can I log off and then log on again as a new user?
There are two alternative ways to log on as a different user:
1. In "Control Panel", start "Users and Passwords" and deactivate automatic logon. Log off and then log on again as a different user. After having done that, reactivate Microsoft automatic logon.
2. Do not activate Microsoft automatic logon. You should instead install or activate the SafeGuard Easy "Secure AutoLogon" function (SAL). Use SafeGuard Easy's SAL function for automatic logon. SAL stores the Microsoft logon data for every SafeGuard Easy user and logs them on automatically.
- You can link the SafeGuard Easy password with the Microsoft password. This allows you to specify whether you want to be logged on as a Microsoft User or Administrator when you enter the SafeGuard Easy password
- If a user is logged on, you can log them off in the usual way and then log as the Administrator.
