Question

Why does Secure Auto Logon (SAL) work although it has been deactivated?

Answer

One possible cause of this may be an active login from the operating system.

Look in the registry under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon", and check the "AutoAdminLogon" switch.
If this is set to 1 the Administrator is automatically logged on to the operating system.
In order to get rid of this, change this value to 0 or delete this entry.
