SafeGuard Easy multi-platform 4.5x
Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional Edition
How can I logon at the PBA if I don’t have an eToken and Token logon is set to “with token only”?
If the token logon is set to “with token only” the only way to pass the PBA is to issue a token with proper credentials on a separate machine.
Install SGE with the “token optional” setting and use the same passwords as on the “locked” system. The token issuing mode should be set to “User”.
Follow these steps to issue the new eToken:
- Insert the (formatted) eToken into an USB port, turn on the PC and wait until the computer halts on the PBA
- Now you’re prompted to enter the eToken password (default:1234567890).
- After entering the correct password, you will be prompted to enter the SafeGuard Easy access data which will be written to the token.
- If all data is correct, the logon to SafeGuard Easy is performed
With this new issued eToken you should be able to logon on both systems.
Keep in mind that with the “with token only” setting enabled, you can’t issue a token in the PBA even if you’ve selected "User" for the "Token issuing mode" below the general token settings.
We recommend using the general token setting "token optional" instead of “with token only”. You can then configure if the logon with token is "required" or "not required" for each user. In this case you can also use challenge/response to grant a user with lost token a temporary logon.
