Issue
If Sophos Control Center version 4.1 is installed on Microsoft Windows 2008 Foundation Server and more than 15 endpoint computers are managed, transitory updating problems will be visible in the Control Center.
This may also occur if other applications on endpoints are also accessing Network Shares on the Server.

Sophos product and version
Sophos Control Center version 4.1

Operating system
Microsoft Windows 2008 Foundation Server

Technical background
This occurs because Microsoft Windows 2008 Foundation Server only supports 15 endpoints in total, see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd459191(WS.10).aspx .

What to do

If you experience the above issue while attempting to manage more than 15 endpoints you are in breach of the Microsoft product licence and functionality. Sophos can only support you when you operate within the parameters specified by Microsoft.

If you want to manage a larger number of endpoints, Sophos recommends that you install Microsoft Windows 2008 Standard Server.
