View currently implemented stored procedures for the SafeGuard Event Table on Microsoft SQL Server

ScheduleShrinkEventTable_install.sql and spShrinkEventTable_install.sql have been installed on the SQL Server holding the SafeGuard Database to automatically move "old" events into the EVENT_BACKUP table.

The article describes how to verify the Microsoft SQL Server Agent job and its current configuration using SQL Server Management Studio or Transact-SQL

What To Do

Using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 

  1. To view the AutoShrinkEventTable job using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, connect to the SQL Server Database instance that is hosting the SafeGuard Database and select the "SQL Server Agent" node.
  2. Expand the "SQL Server Agent" node and select "Jobs".
  3. Expand the "Jobs" node and select "AutoShrinkEventTable".
  4. Click on properties to view and modify the properties as required. 

Using Transact-SQL

  1. To view the AutoShrinkEventTable job using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, connect to the SQL Server Database instance that is hosting the SafeGuard Database.
  2. Click on "New Query"
  3. Run the following Transact-SQL command to view the job properties:

    USE msdb ;
    GO

    EXEC dbo.sp_help_job
    @job_name = N'AutoShrinkEventTable'
    GO
