Unable to install Management Server - failure to Export certificates - I/O failure

  • N.º del artículo: 117607
  • Actualizado: 11 jun 2012

Issue

The installer fails with the error:

Unable to install Management Server

The MSI terminated unexpectedly.

Closer inspection of the MSI install log; 'Sophos_Server32msi [timestamp].log' shows that the call to ExportCompanyCertificate has failed.  See the Technical Information section below for more logging.

First seen in

Enterprise Console 5.1.0

Cause

The location to backup certificates chosen during the installer is not accessible to the installer at the point it attempts to write to the location.

What To Do

Check that the installing user has write access to the location chosen.  If you are using a remote location, maybe consider choosing a location location and move the files after the installation has completed.
