Issue
After upgrading to Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux 7.5.2.1 on-access scanning may become unavailable if using one of the following kernels:
- RHEL5 x86
- kernel-2.6.18-274.17.1.el5.i686.rpm
- kernel-PAE-2.6.18-274.17.1.el5.i686.rpm
- RHEL5 x86_64
- kernel-2.6.18-274.17.1.el5.x86_64.rpm
- RHEL6 x86
- kernel-2.6.32-220.4.1.el6.i686.rpm
- RHEL6 x86_64
- kernel-2.6.32-220.4.1.el6.x86_64.rpm
- SLES10 x86_64
- kernel-default-2.6.16.60-0.93.1.x86_64.rpm
- kernel-smp-2.6.16.60-0.93.1.x86_64.rpm
- SLES10 x86

Cause
Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux 7.5.2.1 does not include Talpa Binary Packs (TBPs) for a small number of supported kernels that were released/patched recently.

What To Do
Sophos released an update on 6th February 2012 which contains the necessary Talpa Binary Packs for these kernels. These Talpa Binary Packs will be downloaded automatically for customers using automatic updates.
If further issues are encountered, please ensure Sophos Anti-Virus has updated correctly by running the following command: /opt/sophos-av/bin/savupdate -v5
