Sybari integrates support for award-winning Sophos Anti-Virus
engine into Antigen
Sophos, a world-leader in corporate anti-virus solutions and
Sybari Software, the premier anti-virus and security specialist for
Groupware solutions today announced that Sybari has selected Sophos
Anti-Virus for use with its antivirus and security Groupware
solutions, Antigen for Exchange and Antigen for Notes.
Sybari Software was particularly attracted to Sophos's
anti-virus technology because of its support for a wide range of
operating systems - exceeding those of competitors, yet matching
those supported by Sybari's Antigen: NT (Intel and Alpha), Sun,
AIX, Linux, OS/2, Novell NetWare, etc.
"Sophos has a well respected scan engine which consistently
scores highly in ICSA and Virus Bulletin detection tests," said Tom
Buoniello, director of product management at Sybari Software, Inc.
"The depth of operating systems supported by Sophos is unsurpassed
and a perfect match to those we support via Antigen."
"We are delighted Sybari has selected Sophos's anti-virus
technology," said Graham Cluley, head of corporate communications
at Sophos. "Our technology fits seamlessly into Sybari's Groupware
solution, making this a superb unification of technologies."
Research has shown that email is the most common method by which
computer viruses are spread. Groupware anti-virus solutions allow
corporations to intercept computer viruses before they can enter a
corporation, and prevent accidental spreading of viruses to outside
customers.
Sybari is the latest in a long line of software companies,
businesses, ISPs and ASPs choosing to integrate Sophos's powerful
virus-finding technology into their applications and services.
Using Sophos Anti-Virus Interface (SAVI) technology, third party
vendors and service providers can combine the Sophos Anti-Virus
capabilities with firewalls, email servers, encryption devices and
other security-related devices.
