Vendor description This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft Windows. The vulnerability could allow denial of service if a remote unauthenticated attacker sends a specially crafted DNS query to the target DNS server.
SophosLabs comments Successfully exploiting this vulnerability may cause a DNS server to become unresponsive and to restart automatically. Periodically clearing the DNS cache on affected servers may mitigate this vulnerability.
