Vendor description
This security update resolves one publicly disclosed vulnerability and one privately reported vulnerability in Microsoft .NET Framework and Microsoft Silverlight. The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution on a client system if a user views a specially crafted web page using a web browser that can run XAML Browser Applications (XBAPs) or Silverlight applications. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights.

SophosLabs comments
CVE-2012-0014 is a privately disclosed vulnerability. It is due to the improper handling and usage of unmanaged objects in the Microsoft .NET Framework and Microsoft Silverlight. CVE-2012-0015 is a publicly disclosed vulnerability. It is due to the .NET Framework improperly calculating a buffer length while processing a specially crafted input. Although SophosLabs have not seen any malware exploiting this vulnerability, the fact that its effect is widespread and the vulnerability CVE-2012-0015 was publicly disclosed, this has been classifed as high risk.
