Troj/Dload-Z is a Trojan for the Windows platform.
Troj/Dload-Z includes functionality to access the internet and communicate with a remote server via HTTP.
When first run Troj/Dload-Z copies itself to <System>\ldr.exe and creates the following files:
<System>\drivers\ntosnh.sys
<System>\drivers\ntoss.sys
The file ntosnh.sys is detected as Troj/DwnLdr-GYV and the file ntoss.sys is detected as Mal/Generic-A.
The following registry entry is changed to run ldr.exe on startup:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Userinit
<System>\userinit.exe,<System>\ldr.exe
The file ntosnh.sys is registered as a new system driver service named "ntosnh.sys", with a display name of "ntosnh.sys". Registry entries are created under:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ntosnh.sys
The file ntoss.sys is registered as a new system driver service named "ntoss.sys", with a display name of "ntoss.sys". Registry entries are created under:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ntoss.sys
