Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X 8.0.1

What To Do

If using Enterprise Console to manage Macs you will be able to deploy the version 8 by selecting '8 Recommended' in the appropriate Software Subscription set in Sophos Update Manager.

If you manage your own installations you can upgrade by downloading and installing version 8 from the Sophos website. You will need your MySophos login to access the software.

Those using Sophos Update Manager for Mac will be automatically upgraded at a later date. If you require version 8 in the meantime please use one of the above methods.

Note: Starting July 2012 we will automatically migrate all customers who have not yet upgraded to version 8.

Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 8 gives you improved performance and protection, including:

  • Live protection: Live malware lookups to enhance protection against the growing Mac threats.
  • Scheduled scans: Create scheduled scans for Macs or enforce them as part of their policy in the Sophos Enterprise Console (some features require version 5.x).
  • New look and feel: We’ve introduced a refreshed user interface. It’s clean, easy to work with and, well, very Mac-like.

Platform Support

Sophos Anti-Virus for Mac OS X version 8 supports the same platforms as version 7.  No platform retirements have been made.
