Error communicating with server at activation - Server error: 500

After following the activation link for Sophos Cloud, setting your password and choosing where to store your data, you receive the error message:

Error communicating with server
Server error: 500.  Please contact Sophos for further details.

The email address to which the activation link has been sent to has been added to another Sophos Cloud account.

What To Do

Attempt to log-in to Sophos Cloud as the account the activation link was sent to using the password reset if required.  If you are able to log-in with that email address, this explains the error in this article.  

If you wish to activate the new account, you will need to delete the account in the other account first.  To do so you will need to log-in as another account to delete the user.  This condition may require you to create another account first.
