This article describes how to solve a issue with the Windows 7 and Vista L2TP IPsec dial in.
The L2TP/IPsec connection via the internal Windows client hangs up and does not work with the Astaro Security Gateway (ASG). No packets are transmitted from the Windows client, to initiate the connection.

This problem seems to occur together with the installation of a 3rd party IPsec product on the Windows system.
Two Windows services are deactivated. It seems that uninstalling the product does not solve this issue.
What To Do
- Check the two services at "Administrative Tools > Services". Both services need to be "Started" and set to "Automatic".
In English the services are called:
IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules
IPsec Policy Agent
- After enabling these services the connection should be established.
