What To Do
In the managed version the following two sections of Sophos Mobile Security are not available:
- Security Advisor
The Security Advisor of SMSec gives an overview of the configuration of the security relevant settings on a device.
This overview is also part of Sophos Mobile Control and therefore this section is not available in the managed version of SMSec.
- Loss & Theft:
The Lost & Theft function of SMSec is not available in the managed version as all features delivered here are also part of Sophos Mobile Control. To use one feature the user has either to contact their Sophos Mobile Control administrator or use the Sophos Mobile Control Self Service Portal in case it's configured.
Additional functions which are only part of the managed version of Sophos Mobile Security:
- Webfilter
With this feature Sophos Mobile Security checks for insecure websites the user may browse.
There are three levels which can be configured for this setting. "Never", "Minimal" and "Maximal". "Never" will not notify the user of malicious or inappropriate websites. "Minimal" will notify the user allowing him to ignore the notification. "Maximal" will block the access to inappropriate websites.
The Webfilter of SMSec can only be managed by an SMC administrator.
Note: Websites are categorized based on contents provided by SophosLabs. This data is updated constantly.
