What To Do

Exclude the Sophos for Microsoft SharePoint folder from indexing:

  • Browse to C:\Program Files\Sophos\ in windows explorer
  • Right-click on the 'Sophos for Microsoft SharePoint' folder and select 'Properties'
  • Click the 'Advanced' button and de-select 'For fast file searching allow Indexing Service to index this folder'
  • Click OK
  • When prompted select 'Yes' to apply these settings to sub-folders and files

Alternatively, disabling the Indexing Service will resolve the issue
