Sophos for Microsoft SharePoint: Access denied error messages displayed

Issue
Dashboard and configuration page display Access denied error messages when accessed. This includes access by various combinations, for example, local/remote Sophos for Microsoft SharePoint website and when local/remote server are selected.

Background
This is a permissions issue, and occurs when the administrator who installed the products is no longer a member of the relevant admins group.

What To Do

This is as designed.

However, if you want to check that this is the actual reason for the error, you should perform the following checks:

  • Check that the administrator and the service accounts used by Sophos for Microsoft SharePoint still are members of the Sophos for Microsoft SharePoint administrators group that you supplied during the installation.
  • Check that you don’t have authentication failures e.g. caused by time synchronisation issues or domain controller issues.
