PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange: some spam not being scanned

Issue
Some spam is not being scanned by PureMessage.

What to do

  1. In the PureMessage console, click Configuration | Transport (SMTP) scanning policy | Anti-spam and then click Allow specific senders. Ensure that your own domain is not included in this list.
  2. Click Configuration | System | Routing. From the Routing dialog box, click the Upstream (trusted) relays button. Ensure that you have configured at least one Trusted relay. If this is not done, all mail that you receive from your ISP will be treated as internal and won't be scanned for spam.
  3. After performing the two steps listed above, if you are still receiving spam that should be scanned, submit a sample to Sophos.
