Problem/Issue:
Unable to connect Master Syncronising on server when launching the puremessage console

Sophos product and version:
PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange 3.0.1

Operating system:
Windows 2003 SP2

Actions/What to do:
In this instance the error occured as the customer moved the config of puremessage from an old server with puremessage to a new server.

Everytime the user opened puremessage the error appeared, but clicking ok to the error loaded puremessage successfully.
To stop the error message appearing check the GeneralConfig.xml to make sure the config is correct.

1) Go to: C:\program Files\Sophos\Puremessage\Config\LastKnown\GeneralConfig.xml
And look for this Line:

<MasterServer>NAMEOFYOURSERVER</MasterServer>

If this points to an old or incorrect server then this will need to be changed.

2) Follow the link to download the debug tools.

http://downloads.sophos.com/tools/PMWXTools/Support_Tools_PMEx_30.zip

3) Extract and run the configeditor.hta from configeditor folder.

4) Load the General Config and amend the Master settings and save configuration.

Now when you launch puremessage the error message will be gone.
