PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange: 'Invalid recipient' error when receiving email for a new Exchange email address

Issue
You see the error 'Invalid recipient' when receiving email for a new Exchange email address.

Operating system

What to do

  1. In the PureMessage console, select Users and Groups|Active Directory.
  2. In the Active Directory dialog box, click the 'Synchronize Now' button. Synchronization will take place and the new user will be recognized.
  3. If you wish, you can now also do one of the following
    • select the Automatic synchronization option.
    • set the Scheduled synchronization to take place more frequently.


Technical Information 
This can occur when you add a new user to Exchange/Active Directory and Active Directory synchronization has not yet occurred.
