PureMessage for Windows/Exchange: new installation fails to update

Issue

When you install a new copy of PureMessage for Windows/Exchange, version 2.6.1, following installation, updates fail and a white-cross on a red-circle is displayed on the Sophos shield.

What to do

  1. Go to the folder %programfiles%\AutoUpdate\Config and create a file called TopLevelCatalogue.dat.
  2. Open this file and type in the string  sdds.es3  and save the file.
  3. Test that updates are now working.

Technical information

This issue occurs because PureMessage for Exchange, version 2.6.1, failed to create the TopLevelCatelogue.dat file in the SophosAutoUpdate (SAU) config folder.
