PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange: errors written to the Application event log

Issue 
One or more of the following errors are written to the Application event log. These may be written at very short time intervals: 

  • event ID 46 - Failed to handle application error event
  • event ID 75 - Failed to route message 0x80070008

PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange 3.0.0

Operating system
Windows 2003 Server R2 SP2

What to do

The following steps must be performed on the computer on which the database and the PureMessage console are installed. If these are installed on different computers, then you perform these steps on the computers indicated.

  1. On the server running the database, stop the MSSQL$Sophos Service.
  2. On the PureMessage server, restart the PureMessage Service.
  3. On the server running the database, start the MSSQL$Sophos Service.
  4. On the PureMessage server, from a command prompt run iisreset.

The messages should now stop.
