PureMessage installation fails with the error message 'The wizard was interrupted before PureMessage could be completely installed'

PureMessage for Microsoft Exchange.

Operating system

Windows 2003 SP1 servers running Exchange 2003 SP2.

What to do

  1. Open Windows services and stop the Exchange Information Store service.
  2. Re-run the PureMessage installation.
  3. Check the Exchange Information Store service has started again.

Technical information

The issue appears to occur when the Exchange Information Store service fails to stop during the installation.
