Cause

In case an original SafeGuard Easy / Disk Encryption 5.50.8 Client has been installed with MSI packages from a network location, which have been renamed prior to installation (i.e. from SGxClientPreinstall.msi to 01_all-SGxClientPreinstall.msi), a migration to Sophos Disk Encryption 5.61 cannot be accomplished.

What To Do

On an affected client machine, open up the registry and navigate to the following hive:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\4E5FD3F24D32A17499D2854733FC9528\SourceList]
"PackageName"="SGxClientPreinstall.msi"

Make sure that the above mentioned REG_SZ Key "PackageName" is filled with the value "SGxClientPreinstall.msi". If the value differs, replace it with "SGxClientPreinstall.msi".

After the changes have been made, restart the Sophos Disk Encryption 5.61 client setup. The setup should now proceed.
