Issue
Installation of Sophos Anti-Virus for UNIX fails with the error:

svccfg syntax errors 'pattern does not exist'
sav protect
sav rms

This occurs when you install to a directory or path containing Japanese characters.

Sophos Anti-Virus for UNIX, version 7.0.0

What to do

Do not install to a path containing Japanese characters.

Technical information
The installation of Sophos Anti-Virus for UNIX, version 7.0.0 uses the system utility svccfg. svccfg does not support the use of Japanese characters in any path passed to it.
