Issue
You cannot change The 'NotifyOnUpdate' option using the savconfig command locally when the Linux PC is managed (see below) from Enterprise Console.

Sophos product and version
Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux

What to do

Updates to PCs in managed installations of Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux are always logged by default. To turn off logging in the update policy settings in Enterprise Console:

  1. In Enterprise Console, highlight the appropriate update policy.
  2. Right-click and select View/Edit policy details.
  3. In the list of operating systems, select Linux.
  4. On the logging tab, deselect 'Log Sophos AutoUpdate activity'.
  5. Click OK.

A managed installation means that when Sophos Anti-Virus was installed on the Linux PC, a copy of Sophos Remote Management System (RMS) was also installed, allowing the PC to be managed by Enterprise Console.
