This article describes how to install Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux & UNIX v7/9.

What To Do

Before you start, ensure that your computers satisfy the system requirements for this product.

You can obtain Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux either by download from the Sophos website or by performing a managed installation from Sophos Enterprise Console.

Download (Standalone Installation)

  1. Log on to your server as root.
  2. Go to the Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux download web page, and download the Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux tarball to a temporary directory.
  3. Follow the instructions in section 2.1.1, 'Install Sophos Anti-Virus' of the Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux Startup guide.

Sophos Enterprise Console (Managed Installation)
