How to upgrade
To upgrade to version 9, please follow these steps:
Option 1 - Endpoints managed by Sophos Enterprise Console
To centrally upgrade all endpoints to version 9:
- Open Sophos Enterprise Console and select 'Update Managers'.
- Create a new subscription or edit your existing subscription.
- Set the package version for your managed Linux/UNIX computers to '9 recommended'.
If you have updated an existing subscription, no further action is required. The version 9 package will overwrite the existing package and your endpoints will update automatically.
If you have created a new subscription, you must follow these additional steps:
- Right-click on the required update manager and select 'View/Edit Update Manager details'.
- Go to the 'Subscriptions' tab.
- Assign your newly created subscription to the update manager and click OK.
- Return to the 'Endpoints' view in Sophos Enterprise Console.
- Edit your existing Updating policy for Linux/UNIX endpoints.
- Go to the 'Subscriptions' tab.
- Select the new subscription from the drop-down list and click OK.
- This policy will be automatically applied to any endpoints already using it. You can also manually apply the policy to any other group

To upgrade your existing standalone installation:
- Download the Sophos Anti-Virus v 9 installer from www.sophos.com (a MySophos account is required).
- Extract the installer and run the
install.sh script as per a normal installation.
