Endpoints show Error 8007052E Could not start installation program on the computer: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password within the Sophos Console

Issue

Following deployment from your Sophos console the following error is returned:

Error 8007052e Could not start installation program on the computer: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Enterprise Console 4.7.0

Cause

The account entered in the Protect Computers Wizard was not recognized by the endpoint computer.

What To Do

On the Credentials screen of the Protect Computers Wizard, ensure that the username is formatted with Domain\User, for example DomainA\AdminUser.

In the screenshot below the one-word domain name 'sophos64' has been used with the domain administrator account.
