What to do

The database has been placed into single user mode and needs to be in multiple user mode to work properly.

Method 1 via SQL Server Management Studio

  1. Install MS SQL Server Management Studio and open the program
  2. Expand the object browser Databases and right click on the database named SophosX and click on properties. (where X is the revision number e.g. SOPHOS4 = Enterprise Console 4.0, SOPHOS45 = Enterprise Console 4.5, SOPHOS47 = Enterprise Console 4.7)
  3. Select the Options page.
  4. Scroll down to the State section and change the Restrict Access option from single to multiple (could also be called Multi_user).
  5. Once the change has been made click ok.
  6. Open the services list and restart the Sophos Management Service.
  7. Reopen the Console.

  2. Run the command OSQL -E -S .\Sophos -Q "alter database SOPHOSx set multi_user with no_wait" (where X is the revision number e.g. SOPHOS4 = Enterprise Console 4.0, SOPHOS45 = Enterprise Console 4.5, SOPHOS47 = Enterprise Console 4.7)
