Sophos Control Center: Unexpected error when clicking on 'Update now'

Issue

When clicking on 'Update now' in Sophos Control Center you receive an 'Unexpected error', the following error message when click on the Advanced button:

Cause

Files required by Sophos Update Manager to function are no longer present on the computer.

What To Do

Please follow article 118329 for guidance on repairing the Sophos Update Manger (SUM) component which downloads update for the Control Center.
