PureMessage for Windows/Exchange may fail to quarantine any email on an SMTP job, reporting the error code 0x80040155 or error code 0x80040154 when it attempts to do so. The mail is subsequently delivered to the intended recipient. Reinstalling PureMessage does not correct this behavior.
The size of the spam mail in the quarantine folder is reported as 0 KB.
The problem only affects SMTP jobs. An information store scan will quarantine mail successfully.
This issue is present if the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ADO\msado15.dll" is not registered correctly.
What to do
Register the dll file:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ADO\msado15.dll"
