Issue
Can you set a central restriction of the PrivateDisk volume size and storage path via the Group Policy Object (GPO) settings?

Known to be applied to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
SafeGuard PrivateDisk, 2.50

Operating System
All supported Operating Systems

What To Do

SafeGuard PrivateDisk 2.50 allows you to set a central policy restricting storage location and the maximum size of a PrivateDisk volume.

This allows you to:

  • limit the amount of media space users are able to allocate for a PrivateDisk volume. If a user tries to create a bigger drive, a message is displayed stating the maximum allowed size for PrivateDisk drives.
  • restrict the paths available for the creation of the PrivateDisk volume. If a user tries to create a volume at a restricted location, a message is displayed indicating which paths/locations can be used.
