Question

Why can some smartcards with certificates only mount one Safeguard PrivateDisk volume?

Answer

It would appear, that PrivateDisk reacts too quickly when a smartcard is inserted, or the smartcard driver is too slow. PrivateDisk tries to mount the volume before the certifcate has been stored in the local certificate store, meaning the certificate is not known by the CSP. When PrivateDisk tries to mount the second volume everything is ok and the volume can be mounted successfully.

In the next version, SafeGuard PrivateDisk will wait a number of milliseconds before it tries to mount volumes, in order to give the smartcard time to transfer the certificate to the store.

Recommended Procedure:
Mount the volume manually and not automatically. As you have already entered the correct PIN, no further dialog should pop up.
