Question
How do I hide the explorer context menu extension (right-click on encrypted file) of SafeGuard LAN Crypt client?

Answer
To do this you must delete the following registry keys. Ensure that you make a backup of the registry before you proceed:

  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\SGLCMenu
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\SGLCMenu
Renaming the "SGLCMenu" key is not enough to hide the menu. If the key is only renamed, the string value (= {aaf18c90-34ac-11d1-bc46-00a0240b2873}) must be renamed.

Important: In the registry, you can only deactivate the entire menu, not the individual menu options.
