Why can I not browse for my Novell Servers in the SafeGuard LAN Crypt Administration?

Answer
The browse option for a Novell Server is only available when both the following criteria are met:

  • the Novell client is installed
  • in the SafeGuard LAN Crypt Administration, under the “Central Settings”, under “Server” the login information must be defined correctly.

The logon data must be defined as in the following example:

Please Note: this is valid up to Version 3.51
Servername: IP Adress or DNS Name
Username: cn=admin,ou=admins,o=bigblue
Password: (appropriate Password)
LDAP: Novell
SSL: Novell

From version 3.60.0.34 (SafeGuard LAN Crypt Administration) and above
Servername: IP Adress or DNS Name
Username: CN=admin,O=Test
Aliases: IP Adress of the Novell Server e.g 192.168.178.70
LDAP: <other>
LDAP with SSL: <other>
LDAP authentication method: Password (LDAP)
