Question

Does Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption (SDE) support "Tablet PC" devices?

Answer

A Tablet PC is basically a normal PC running Windows XP SP 1 (with extensions for hand-writing recognition). These devices are available in two versions:

a) As "convertible": This is basically a normal notebook with harddisk, keyboard etc., where the screen can be twisted and laid onto the keyboard to form a tablet which is then used with an electronic pen. These devices should be able to run any Windows XP enabled software including Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption.

b) As "pure tablet": This is a PC with a touchscreen without keyboard (the keyboard is optional via a docking station). Due to the missing keyboard we can not guarantee the whole functionality of SDE, e.g. you have to install Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption without active PBA.
