What does SDE Error 104 / 0104 "Currently installed driver is inconsistent" mean? How can I solve this problem?

Answer

This error occurs, if the Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption kernel was damaged and/or destroyed or was changed without allowance. To solve this problem, use the tool "sgeasy.exe" on your emergency floppy disk. If you have a current backup of the Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption kernel, you can use the restore function. If you don’t have a backup, try the repair function in order to repair this error. Please refer to the Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption manual to find out more about the emergency floppy disk and the emergency repair process.
