Can passwords be routed to the domain login after a sucessfull logon to the operating system automatically and are automatical password changes possbile?

Yes, this Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption function is called Secure AutoLogon (SAL). The Secure AutoLogon (SAL) is a comfort feature that creates a connection between the Windows and the Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption user. This connection is saved securily in an encrypted file. At next logon, the credentials are read out of this file. The next logon to windows will automatically take place. Only the Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption credentials are required at PreBoot Authentication level (PBA) to authenticate with the System.

Whether the Secure AutoLogon should be used or not must be decided at the installation. Secure AutoLogon can only be used if the option "Password at system start" (Pre-BootAuthentication) is active.

The validity of a Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption password can be configured. The standard value for this validity is 90 days. Once this period has expired, the user has to change his Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption password at next logon.
