Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption 4.60

Client OS

Windows 2000 Professional SP4, Windows XP SP3

Server OS

Is it possible to encrypt a hot-pluggable hard disk belated (on a system where Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption has already been installed)?

No, that is not possible.
All hard disks that are to be encrypted must already be connected to the PC before Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption is installed.
The hot-pluggable hard disks must also still be connected during the first reboot after initial encryption. After initial encryption the disk drive can be removed and connected again as required.

If the above mentioned requirements are not fulfilled, the only possibility is to re-install Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption.
