Question

Is it possible to use the "Secure Hibernation" feature of Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption on systems with S-ATA drives?

Answer

Yes, it is possible, but you should be aware of the following:

This could be caused by special drivers for the S-ATA drives, which have been implemented during installation of the operating system. Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption cannot use these drivers to work with in order to perform the secure hibernation (with correct resuming).

In order to solve this issue, you should use standard operating system drivers, which would then make sure that the S-ATA drives are running in IDE compatibility mode.
