Unable to perform Challenge/Response for a Sophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption user in the PBA

Creating a challenge code is not possible. How to proceed?

Answer

Challenge/Response does not work at PBA. A user account whose password is no longer known should be unlocked via the Challenge/Response mechanism. This action failed due to following issue:

The username was typed in the "USER-ID" field and confirmed with 'ENTER'. When pressing [F9], to request a challenge code, the cursor jumps back to the USER-ID field and erases the input in this field.

Please make sure that USER-ID in question was entered correctly and is existing on the system. In case the USER-ID does not exist, the Challenge/Response cannot be performed and the fields will be erased.

This is also valid for the USER-ID "SYSTEM", as it is not possible to provide a Challenge/Response to the "SYSTEM" account!
