Question

Why isn't it possible to write memory dumps on an encrypted hard disk?

Answer

The reason why memory dumps cannot be written on an encrypted hard disk is rather simple:

The memory dump writing process bypasses the normal driver stack. Therefore, it is not possible to write the dump successfully onto the hard disk
