Installing SafeGuard Enterprise Device Encryption on computers with multiple Windows operating systems.

Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
SafeGuard Device Encryption 5.x

What to do

The SafeGuard Enterprise Device Encryption software can be installed on a computer to protect its data even if several Windows operating systems are installed on separate volumes of the hard disk. SafeGuard Enterprise provides a so-called runtime system. The SafeGuard Enterprise Runtime enables the following when it is installed on volumes with an additional Windows installation:

■ The Windows installation residing on these volumes may successfully be started by a boot manager.
■ Partitions on these volumes that have been encrypted by a full SafeGuard Enterprise Client installation with the defined machine key can successfully be accessed.

ALL partitions have to be encrypted!

Detailed information regarding the installation and setup can be found in the manual (i.e. "Chapter 11 - Setting up SafeGuard Enterprise Runtime" in sgn_60_ig_eng_installation.pdf).

Note: In SafeGuard Easy 4.x it was possible to leave one partition unencrypted. This is no longer possible with SafeGuard 5.x
